Disk cleaner
See where the space went,
then decide what to delete
A treemap shows how much room each folder takes. Drill into any folder to see the actual files. Every cleanup is preflighted and confirmed first — and nothing leaves your machine.
What it actually does
From seeing the problem to finishing the cleanup, every step shows its evidence.
A treemap of your disk
Folders are drawn as squares sized by how much they occupy. Click into any of them to walk down the tree, with a file list alongside.
Deep cache cleanup
291 individually verified cleanup rules covering app caches, build artifacts and system temporary files. Every rule declares its risk level and whether the data is rebuildable.
Real duplicate detection
Files are compared by content rather than by name, so the matches are genuine duplicates. Keep one per group and remove the rest in one pass.
Large files and startup items
List the biggest files by size, and see every startup entry so the one slowing your boot time is obvious.
Preflight before anything is deleted
A dry run lists exactly which paths would be removed and how much they weigh. What you confirm is the same list that gets executed.
AI explanations, your own key
For a cache or file you do not recognise, ask an AI what it is for and what happens if it is removed. Requests go straight to the provider you configure, using your key.
Why it is safe to delete with
The real risk in a disk cleaner is removing the wrong thing. These are hard requirements, not preferences.
-
1
Read-only scanning by default
In the default mode it only reads: it builds the candidate list and touches nothing.
-
2
Protected paths
System directories, application install locations, symlinks and reparse points are protected and never enter the deletion set.
-
3
Dry run, preflight, confirm
A dry run computes the impact, a preflight reconciles counts and sizes, and nothing runs until you explicitly confirm.
-
4
Verified afterwards
After deletion the result is checked again. Any divergence from the preflight list is reported rather than papered over.
-
5
Exclusions travel with the scan
Path and name rules you add stay in force through the whole scan, including exclusions expressed through system path aliases.
Frequently asked
How does this relate to the original MangoDisk?
MangoDisk Plus is a derivative of the open-source MangoDisk project, published under the same GPL-3.0 license with complete source available.
The upstream link and this fork's source are both in the footer.
Is it really free? Any ads or in-app purchases?
Free and open source. No ads, no in-app purchases, no account needed.
The installer contains no promotional components.
Do the AI explanations cost extra?
There is no charge, but you supply your own OpenAI-compatible API key in Settings.
This build does not run a first-party AI service: requests go directly from your machine to the provider you configured.
Can it delete my files by mistake?
Scanning is read-only by default, deletion requires explicit confirmation, and a preflight reconciles the plan first.
System directories, app install locations, symlinks and reparse points are protected, and you can add exclusion rules for any path or file name.
Which systems are supported?
The current release ships a Windows 10/11 64-bit installer.
Upstream also supports macOS and Linux; this build publishes Windows only for now.
Does it collect my data?
Scanning, comparing and cleaning all happen locally. File paths and file contents are never uploaded.
Network use is limited to update checks and an optional public-IP lookup, both toggleable in Settings. AI explanations only fire when you configure and invoke them.
Windows says the publisher is unknown — is that a problem?
It means the installer is not code-signed yet. Windows shows this for every unsigned program; it does not indicate a problem with the file.
Choose "More info" then "Run anyway", or build it yourself from the source.
